FX 3S PLCThe FX3S series PLC provides full function PLC control, built-in high-speed inputs and outputs, available relay outputs, and multiple, built-in communication ports. It also includes expansion options for communications, analog, and temperature control. As part of the FX3 series, the FX3S can use many of the existing programming resources that are available for other FX3 series PLCs. This greatly reduces time and costs for system set up.
The FX3S PLC is designed to handle basic control tasks, such as simple positioning or analog, and temperature control operations. It excels in small, standalone applications that don’t require complex control tasks. The compact PLC is especially well suited for food and beverage applications, as well as material handling, and fan and pump applications for irrigation and building automation
The FX3S processes basic instructions in 0.21 μs, which is faster by approximately 3 times compared with its predecessor, the FX1S. For users this means quicker program response and more accurate process performance as inputs, outputs and actions are processed and monitored more times per second
Built-in positioning control
The FX3S series comes with high speed counters (up to 60 kHz) and pulse train outputs (for 2 axes and up to 100 kHz). The high speed counters can be configured in a single or two phase input
FX 3G PLCWhile being intended for smaller systems, the FX3G still delivers a powerful combination of essential features, plus more not expected from a controller at this level. These include; a large program memory to implement sophisticated algorithms, ample space for data storage, logging or recipes, plus high speed execution to enhance system productivity. A dual bus architecture provides flexible expansion possibilities for additional I/O capacity and communication functions.
The FX3G can operate as a standalone controller, but for when integration with other system components is required, a range of standard features makes it stand out from the crowd. Mitsubishi builds in standard instructions that permit easy control of our inverters over a precise, reliable digital link. This makes it simple to connect an inverter such as a FR-D700 to provide more precise motor operation while optimizing energy use. Positioning functions are also simple to implement. The FX3G provides direct control of up to three independent axes without any additional hardware. Hence cost effective multi-axis systems can be built without requiring a costly controller overhead.
Finally, the FX3G offers you a wide selection of options when it comes to networking and communications. This begins with standard serial communication support and builds up to comprehensive coverage of common open automation networks. These include CC-Link, CANopen, Profibus-DP and Ethernet. Further, a built-in USB port makes permits convenient connection to any PC or laptop for high speed program uploads and downloads along with monitoring
FX 3GE PLCThe FX3GE Series is the most versatile compact PLC from Mitsubishi Electric and introduces yet another top model to the FX3 range. In addition to the powerful functions of the FX3G series, the FX3GE also boasts integral analog inputs/outputs and Ethernet connectivity. Other features include an RS422 interface and a USB programming port.
The FX3GE therefore sets new class standards for compact PLCs; it provides excellent value for money, and is ideally suited for many applications. Typical fields of use include the Food & Beverage industry, processing machines, packaging technology, pumps and refrigeration systems.
For processing analog values, the FX3GE comes as standard with two analog inputs and one analog output, each having a resolution of 12 bits (0–4000). The FX3GE also features an Ethernet port with a transmission rate of 100/10 Mbit/s.
Flexible Expansion Options
FX3GE base units are available with 24 or 40 inputs/outputs and can be easily expanded. The simplest way of expanding the units is by means of digital or analog expansion adapters or communications adapters which can be fitted directly to the controller. These adapters are extremely easy to fit in the base unit and provide a cost-effective means of achieving additional capacity without taking up more space. Almost all expansion units for the FX3G, FX3U und FX2N can be used.
Extensive Communications Options
The FX3GE provides a number of options for communication and connection to various networks. As well as the integral Ethernet interface, the FX3GE supports standard serial communications solutions via RS422
FX3U PLCThe new FX3U series is the third generation of Mitsubishi Electric's successful compact PLC family. Developed for the international market, the new controllers feature a special second "adapter bus" system, which complements the existing system bus used for expansion, special function and network modules. Up to ten additional modules can be connected to this new adapter bus.
The FX3U controllers also impress with their speed (0.065µs per logical instruction), a significantly larger instruction set with a total of 209 instructions and improved functions and modules, particularly for positioning tasks. Other improvements include enhanced communications capabilities with Ethernet, USB and RS-422 mini DIN connectors.
The enhanced networking support has also increased the I/O capacity of the new flagship model, which can now be expanded to a maximum of 384 I/Os, including networked connections.
